After School Part Time Work as Intern for Frederick Maryland Online Publisher.

Frederick Web Promotions has a need for part time writer intern.

2 to 3 hours a day. Can be done from the library or your home.

• Requires access to the Internet.
• Requires ability to summarize articles.
• Requires ability to figure out how to log into specialty search engines.
• Requires ability to sign up for your own web mail account.
  

Need to be able to be creative for 300 characters.
This includes spaces and puntuctuation.
If you think you can write a good summary in that small space you've got a job!!

Local Business Results - above the organic listings

Search For a Local Vendor

Have you done a search for a local vendor because you needed to find a specfic product or service and you wanted to find the closest vendor to your house?

Most of us are aware that there are 10 listings per results page for both Google and Yahoo. In Search Engine Optimization speak, these 10 listings are called "organic listings". The listings on the right column are sponsored listings, people generally know that some bigger company paid to get their ad there. It's generally agreed in the SEO community that people tend to trust a listing in the organic serps before they trust a firm that has the big bucks to dominate the right hand sponsored listings.

Time and time again a company blog outperforms a conventional website OUTPERFORMS a given companies existing website.

To answer that question it's best to ask a bigger, better question:

How does Google decide who gets to be ranked where or why is one site ranked higher than another?

Let's say there are three similar websites from three competitors.
...without something unique about a given site, and they're all homogeneous, then the only thing left for Google to use as a deciding factor is:

Number of incoming links
The quality of those incoming links

a high(er) quality incoming link

If site one has 12 incoming links
site two has 120 incoming links
site three has 12000 incoming links

I'm hearing from prospective clients that want to hire a local Search Engine Optimization Company:

How Google decides which site goes in the number ONE spot depends on a formula (one that Google most definatly wants to keep secret). That formula uses "Link Popularity" to figure into it's "wieghting scale".

What is "Link Popularity"?
